A little about me
Here’s the awkward part where I talk about myself & write in 3rd person....
Yola Jean Lu is a comedian, actress and writer based out of Austin, Texas. She is one of the original co-founders of the all Asian American improv troupe, Y'all We Asian, and also one of the original founders of Disoriented Comedy, which was a mostly female stand up tour that gave a platform to other Asian American voices. Yola is also the 2022 winner of the Austin Chronicle's Best Actress award, and received honorable mention in the Chicago Women Film Fest for Best Actress for her role in her short film, Patsy. She’s currently working on her one woman show called “Help! My Vagina is Trying to Kill Me!” which is a comedic show about women’s health. She’ll be premiering it at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this Summer. She has also created a web series that can be found on YouTube called "uncomfortable the series", which one of the episodes has garnered over 1.5 million views. She still doesn't understand why. You can catch Yola every Thursday performing with her all female/non-binary troupe, Garage, at the Fallout Theater, and also performing stand up around town.
